Our research focuses on medicinal plants and their roles in drug discovery and as ethnomedicines. Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 10 Qualifications of a Student:
Honors College students preferred; successful completion of chemistry and/or botany courses will be helpful. Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
Students will be expected to spend at least 10 hours in the lab each week. Duties will involve laboratory work, including dried plant sample management, extraction into various solvents, and chromatographic fractionation with various instruments. In addition, some time will be devoted to a literature review of the plants being studied, as well as to the documentation and organization of the materials produced and the methods applied.
