    Research Interest:
    Dr. Thompson is an Emergency Medicine physician and Medical Toxicologist. He is currently working with the Chicago Department of Public Health on an asthma initiative to look at environmental triggers in the home, such as mold and lead. The research evaluates intensive home, medical, and environmental management of pediatric patients who present to the Emergency Department with asthma symptoms.

    Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 10

    Qualifications of a Student:
    Interest and enthusiasm for research and Emergency Medicine are important. Time management and responsibility are also key, as the student may work on more than one project and/or task at once. Any previous experience working with study subjects and research tasks is also appreciated.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    Student will assist with participant recruitment, data collection, data entry, and other research-related tasks. Student is expected to be prompt and reliable. Much of the research tasks will be performed in the Emergency Department, so student must be willing to have flexibility with scheduling and willing to work outside of traditional office hours.
