    Research Interest:
Students and colleagues who work on my research team tend to have cross-cutting interests that span basic science, psychology, rehabilitation, and nursing. Our current research explores the interpersonal aspects of patient-provider relationships within occupational therapy, physical therapy, and nursing. We are currently conducting two studies of client-therapist relationships, one with adult neurological and orthopedic clients and the other with pediatric clients. Additionally, we conduct psychometric research based on the Model of Human Occupation and our focus for this work will be on cancer survivorship.

Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 10

    Qualifications of a Student:
Good interpersonal skills and willingness to perform a wide range of secretarial, recruitment, data collection, and data entry tasks. Able to interact with inpatient and outpatient adult and child clients. The student must show professionalism and maturity and be team-oriented and detail-minded.

Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
The student must be committed to work at least 10-15 hours per week for at least one full semester. The student will be assigned to one of three projects: Adult inpatient and outpatient study, pediatric study, or model of human occupation research focused on cancer survivors. The Model of Human Occupation research will require the student to work in my lab room in the Applied Health Sciences Building and it will require some facility with technology.
