Research Interest:
What if we can build a protein from scratch?

Our research group's goal is to see if small peptides can cooperate (called "self-assembly") to mimic the behavior of much larger proteins. This teaches us how peptides may have evolved into proteins in prebiotic chemistry and how to build bioinspired materials.

Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 10

Qualifications of a Student:
Preference for sophomores and juniors with:
3.5+ GPA

Chemistry or biochemistry major

Students should have at least 2 consecutive days available in their schedule for research.
