    Research Interest:
    I am specializing in the High Energy Nuclear Physics, working on the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) in Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY. I use heavy flavor quarks as the probe to study the formation and characteristics of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), a state of matter believed to exist at sufficiently high energy densities.

    Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 4

    Qualifications of a Student:
    Junior or senior students with the major in physics. Experience with programming (especially C++) is a plus.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    The work will be a part of ongoing research program within the large international collaboration of physicists on the STAR experiment. Students can opt to get UIC credit for Physics 392, Physics Research.
