Research Interest:
The mechanisms by which organisms regulate iron metabolism; Nearly all organism require iron but this nutrient can also be toxic. We are investigating the molecular mechanisms by which organisms regulate the acquisition and storage of iron. Our approach utilizes molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and cell biology to understand cellular iron metabolism.
