    Early Modern Spain: Culture, Literature, and History. Cervantes Studies. Gender Studies.

    I am currently working on a book project that analyzes the ways in which "women's history" (classical, Biblical, contemporary) was deployed in texts (literary and pictorial) in order to educate early modern Spanish women on the limits of female agency and subjectivity.

    Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 6

    Qualifications of a Student:
    Optimal: Completion of Spanish 212 with a grade of A.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    Students will help me construct an extensive annotated bibliography that will aid me in the development the above described book project. Students will search for bibliography and compose analytical summaries of articles and books. They will also read primary sources and identify possible areas of interest for my research.
