    Research Interest:
    At the Center on Mental Health Services Research and Policy (CMHSRP), the focus of research is on the development of projects evaluating evidence-based mental health services and programs. While some projects include services delivered in hospitals and institutional environments, the majority of work is focused on community mental health and psychiatric rehabilitation services. In addition, CMHSRP projects focus on specific topical areas, including but not limited to: integrating physical and mental health services, community integration, employment, family issues in mental health, effects of HIV/AIDS on mental health, forensic mental health issues, gender and cultural diversity, and the mental health needs of youth.

    Qualifications of a Student:
    Students must be at least junior undergraduates, and have completed at least one course in general psychology or sociology. Students who have completed additional courses in the behavioral sciences, such as abnormal psychology, research methods, and/or statistics, preferred.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    Conduct literature reviews, work with project databases including data entry, cleaning & verification, assist in development of educational adn curricular materials such as podcasts, conduct interviews for relevant field studies.

    All students working at the CMHSRP on data or with research participants are required to complete the online Investigator 101 training per the guidleines of the UIC Institutional Review Board (IRB).
