Participating in the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Awards program: Yes

    Research Interest:
My lab focuses on cutting-edge stem cell research for corneal regeneration. We are currently working on two major projects:
    1. Identifying stem cell markers and regulatory pathways involved in maintaining corneal epithelial cell homeostasis.
    2. Investigating the mechanisms underlying corneal epithelial wound healing.

Students joining my lab will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of basic molecular biology techniques, including:
    • Cell culture
    • Western blotting
    • PCR
    • Flow cytometry (FACS)
    • Immunofluorescent staining

Beyond experimental techniques, students will participate in all stages of scientific research, from project design, developing research protocols, data analysis, and result presentation to scientific writing, image creation, and paper publication.

For those interested in genetic data analysis, students can learn and apply bioinformatics tools such as R and IPA for in-depth data interpretation and visualization.

This is an excellent opportunity for students passionate about stem cell research and molecular biology to develop their technical skills, contribute to impactful research, and grow as independent scientists. If you are enthusiastic about advancing your knowledge and skills in this field, we would love to hear from you!
