    Qualifications of a Student:
    Preferred major- any major acceptable but students who are planning on going to medical school preferred.
    Honors College Student preferred, will only consider Junior or Senior in excellent academic standing, fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish preferred.
    Our work involves speaking to patients - excellent people skills are necessary. Students signed up for research credit highly preferred.

    Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
    Our work involves community-based research on skin disease education for both the public and physicians. Any interested students can inquire about several ongoing projects and choose which project interests them the most. Any student working with us will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of research including data collection instrument preparation, data collection, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Students are welcome to try and write up their research and submit to a journal as a first-author. Students will be mentored and become part of the research team. If student wishes to intitate his or her own project and it is viewed as a potentially publishable work they will be encouraged to to do so. This research will take place in the Department of Dermatology, College of Medicine.
