    Research Interest:
Induction of tolerance to prevent and treat autoimmune diseases such as thyroiditis and type- diabetes. We carryout basic cellular immunology work using animal models for the above diseases. We use protein chemistry, immunological techniques, flow cytometry, animal experimentation, immunohistochemistry, etc.
Second project involves understanding the role of a novel human protein called IG in cell proliferation and death. In this project, we use a number of ell biologytechniques including cell cycle analusis, apoptosis assays, cell signalling studies, etc.

Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 20hrs

    Qualifications of a Student:
Should have prior lab experience and should be interested in cell biology and immunology.

Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
Carryout tissue cilture work, animal (mostly mouse)handling, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, coning and restriction analysis.
