Our lab is interested in the mechano-biological mechanisms that govern cartilage homeostasis. We have ongoing projects looking at the signaling mechanisms regulating cartilage growth and the pathogenesis of degenerative diseases such as arthritis (osteoarthritis). Our lab works at the intersection of several different disciplines. Advanced students will have the opportunity to gain experience in: Histology Immunohistochemistry Cell culture Mouse models Collecting kinematic data with high speed video Programming in Matlab Biomechanics Micro-Computerized Tomography Shape analysis The lab is small, open, friendly, and has lots of excellent collaborators. Preferred standing: Junior or Senior Preferred major: Biomedical Engineering (Bioengineering), Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Pre-med, Physical Anthropology No previous research experience is necessary You must be committed to completing a project and being an active member of the lab. Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
