Research Interest:
Substance abuse; Effects of drugs on mood and self-regulating processing. We typically run studies in which we administer drug (e.g., nicotine, alcohol, caffieine) to participants, and then assess drug effects on a host of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral outcomes.

Qualifications of a Student:
Psychology major; Completion of PSCH 100, 242, and 343; Skills in database management, statistics, and word processing useful. Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
Student responsibilities vary across studies, but here are some typical experience might expect: Actual running of participants through study; administering psychophysiological recording; data entry and data management; participant screening and scheduling; attend weekly lab meeting; and Ask questions! We view the undergraduates' participation in our lab as a chance to learn new things and grow. You may find that you are excited by research, or you might discover that this is not the direction for you (though most undergrad RAs have experienced the former!).
