Research Interest:
I coordinate all of the projects in the campus wide drug discovery center, UICentre. We have projects on numerous disease states including: cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, pulmonary hypertension, epileptogenesis, anti-infectives, and sleep apnea. Our projects focus on all of the aspects of early drug discovery. We put together teams of scientists to generate novel small molecules that target proteins of interests. Opportunities range from synthetic chemistry to bioassay development for high throughput screening to drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics.
