Research Interest:
My research uses mass spectrometry to understand dynamics of the proteome and lipidome in biological systems. Projects are focused on various aspects of human disease including neurodegeneration. Students interested in research opportunities should contact Dr. Stephanie Cologna (cologna@uic.edu).

Qualifications of a Student:
Undergraduate students should have completed General Chemistry and preferably Organic Chemistry. No preference given to major.

Brief Summary of what is expected from the student:
Students interested in a multi-disciplinary research environment are encouraged to reach out. Projects range in scope and application. Self-motivated students excited to participate gain research experience are encouraged to inquire. Members of the laboratory will be exposed to general cell culture techniques, experimental design and data analysis, analytical methods including liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
