Research in Prof. Ayitou Laboratory is strongly interdisciplinary…crossing disciplines and blending conventional organic synthesis techniques and photophysical & photochemical paradigms to devise alternatives approaches for energy applications, organic materials, and sustainable chemical synthesis. In our laboratory, we employ fundamental and established concepts in organic photochemistry and photophysics and cutting edge techniques and instrumentations to rationalize molecular interactions and transformations. We are interested in the following: 1) Photo-materials for solar energy conversion 2) Light– and Bio–active compounds for synergistic drug delivery 3) Low-cost and plant-based materials for environmental remediation Minimum time commitment in hours per week: 6 Qualifications of a Student:
